Betts Gallery is excited to present a very special exhibition- think outside the box and, well, Off the Wall. Nine Mid-Coast artists have cobbled, fabricated, assembled, welded, re-purposed and stitched together a collection of outstanding multi-dimensional works. The artists include Daniel Anselmi, JT Gibson, Wesley Reddick, Julie H Rose, Axel Stohlberg, Ieva Tatarsky, Norman Tinker, Janalee Welch and James Wolfe.

Off the Wall runs from August 12th – September 17th, with an opening reception on Friday, August 12th from 5:30 -8:00 pm. Betts Gallery is located at 96 Main Street at The Belfast Framer. There is also an entrance on Beaver Street across from the public parking lot.

Betts Gallery is celebrating the season with Spring Mix, a group show featuring the works of ten artists with local roots. Each has selected their freshest works for the show in a succulent variety of media ranging from graphite, assemblage, printmaking, oil, acrylic, pen & ink, archival inkjet, and more. Artists include Susan Cooney, Mark Kelly, Karen MacDonald, Petrea Noyes, Abbie Read, Willy Reddick, Julie Rose, Lesia Sochor, Jill Stasium, and Janalee Welch.

Betts Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Art of the Line, an exhibition of drawing, illustration and architectural works by four local artists. Works include powerful figure drawings by Mike Fletcher; detailed and precise architectural plans by Larason Guthrie; intricate multicolored Sharpie drawings by Bridget Matros; and exquisitely rendered drawings by Julie Rose.

The artists’ each bring new inspiration and direction to their works, offering introspection to exuberance, balance to chaos, all with a masterful use of color, media and technique.

The show will run July 22 through August 22, with an opening reception on Friday, July 24th, in conjunction with Belfast Arts’ Fourth Friday Art Walks.

Betts Gallery announces the opening of Bon Appetit: Food Production, Presentation, Politics. A feast for the eyes, thirteen Maine artists have harvested their best food-related work for this exhibition. Kenny Cole, Julie Cyr, Elsie Gawler, Mike Fletcher, Jay Gibson, Sheep Jones, Daniel Kirchoff, Jeffrey Ackerman, Julie Rose, Kathy Weinberg, Janalee Welch, Isaac Wright and Bennett Konesni will offer works of various media, including oil, papercutting, collage, printmaking, watercolor, graphite, photography and sculpture and assemblage.

The show will run June 24 through July 18, with an opening reception on Friday, June 26th, in conjunction with Belfast Arts’ Fourth Friday Art Walks. The Opening Reception coincides with Maine Farmland Trust’s Maine Fare event, and will feature tasty samplings from local area farms and producers.

Betts Gallery announces the premiere show of the 2015 season- Home Opener. After a winter for the record-books, we celebrate spring with an all-star lineup of fifteen Maine artists. Betts Gallery features 25 Maine artists in the annual holiday show of small works entitled, Wrap Up the Holidays. Betts Gallery features five local artists in ‘CUT & PASTE: Collage & Assemblage’ Exhibition

Cut & Paste. This ubiquitous term, commonly associated with a few clicks of a mouse, has been masterfully translated by five local artists into a compelling exhibition of works using a variety of imaginative techniques. Each artist brings a unique perspective to the challenge using media ranging from steel to lace, fossil fuels to antique books and more. Works by Daniel Anselmi, Beth Henderson, Bennett Konesni, Abbie Read and Norman Tinker are featured in the Show which will run from September 24 through October 31. An opening reception will be held on Friday, September 26, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. in conjunction with Belfast Arts’ Final Friday Art Walks.
